McClymont Family
who : meet our family

Hello! We are a family in Texas looking to adopt from Russia. We would like to introduce ourselves, so please read and enjoy our story.

Steve and Melissa

Married April 26, 2003

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Texas, working with my dad raising cattle and building barb-wire fences. My first job away from the ranch was as a disc jockey at a small town radio station, fulfilling my childhood dream of being on the radio. Later, I moved to the North Texas town of Wichita Falls to attend university. Eventually, I left radio broadcasting to focus on a career in computers and information technology.

Melissa grew up on a farm in Nebraska. As a teenager, she and her sisters moved to San Antonio, Texas. Later, she attended college in the West Texas town of Abilene, where she earned a degree in Automotive Technology. She then went on to work as a service manager at an automotive shop in Abilene.

In August, 2002, as a result of much prayer and waiting on God, Melissa and I met through an online dating website. A short week later I drove three hours to Abilene to meet my future bride. The next three months one of us was driving that road every weekend, until Melissa moved to Wichita Falls. Six months after that, we were married in a beautiful ceremony at the historic Wichita Theatre, where I was working as a software developer.

In March of 2006, we moved to the city of Bedford, near Fort Worth, Texas, where I am currently employed as a Network Engineer for a computer consulting firm. Melissa and I are committed followers of Jesus Christ, and are we are involved in a wonderful church, Calvary Chapel Grapevine.

Alexander McClymont

Born November 18, 2005

Our son Alexander has brought a lot of joy into our lives as well as some unique opportunities to trust the Lord. In the spring of 2008, shortly after his 2nd birthday, he began to exhibit some unusual behavior. He was extremely sensitive, and would cry every time he bumped into something, regardless of whether he was hurt or not. He would lose his temper and scream for hours, and we found it very difficult to calm him down. He refused to interact with other children, and instead he would sit in the corner, rolling one small toy truck back and forth for hours at a time. Eventually, at the prompting of some concerned friends, we had him tested, and found out that he was mildly autistic. At first, we were devistated, but then we began to pray for healing. We prayed that God would heal him of a condition that is traditionally uncurable. Over the past year, we have watched with a deep gratitude as our faithful God has faithfully done a work of healing in our son.

Today, Alexander is three years old. He loves watching for flags and railroad crossings as we drive around town. He enjoys playing with his friends from church, and he's becoming quite a chatty little fellow. He looks forward to riding a horse named Richie every week at his riding therapy class. He loves to sing songs at bed time, and he giggles when Daddy hangs his toy monkey from the ceiling fan and turns it on. It is amazing to see how far he has come, and what a wonderful work of healing the Lord is doing in him.
